Evan Nichols is the Production Editor for MJIL, responsible for logistics surrounding associate editor citation assignments and management of MJIL office and carrel spaces. A proud double Wolverine, he graduated from the University of Michigan Ford School of Public Policy. International areas of interest include Chinese law and policy, which he studied at the Ford School. He will also be spending his final semester completing an externship in Geneva, Switzerland, with the US Mission to the United Nations in Geneva.
Stephen Packer is a third year law student originally from Northampton, U.K. He graduated with a B.A. Honours degree in French Language Studies with Linguistics from the University of Brighton in 2008, before spending two years teaching English in Hiroshima, Japan. He split his 1L summer between Michigan Law’s General Clinic and Chief Judge Rosen’s chambers at the Eastern District of Michigan. He spent his 2L Winter semester serving as a Geneva International Fellow at OHCHR in Switzerland, and his 2L summer at UNHCR’s Washington, DC office as a U.S. Protection Intern.
Elizabeth is third year law student originally from Southfield, MI. She graduated from Catholic University of America.
Katherine is third year law student originally from Dallas, Texas. She graduated magna cum laude from Bryn Mawr College in 2012 with a B.A. in Philosophy. At Michigan, Katherine sings soprano for the Michigan Law Headnotes (the law school’s a cappella group) and helps lead 1L Orientation. She spent her 1L summer as a judicial intern for the Honorable Charles B. Day at the Federal District Court for the State of Maryland at Greenbelt and is currently spending her 2L summer at Weil, Gotshal & Manges in New York City. Katherine’s favorite foods include the chicken quesadilla from Taco Bell, Reese’s peanut butter cups, and watermelon.
Jacob Styburski is a third-year law student from Grand Rapids, Michigan. He graduated magna cum laude from Carleton College, majoring in English and minoring in Spanish. Jacob spent his 1L summer as a law clerk for the University of Michigan Human Trafficking Clinic and is currently working as a corporate summer associate at Dentons’ Chicago office.
Divya Taneja is a third year law student from Ohio. She graduated magna cum laude from Duke University in 2013 with degrees in Psychology and Political Science.
Neha is a third year law student originally from Troy, Michigan. She graduated from Michigan in 2011 with a B.A. in economic and political science. After undergrad, Neha worked as a project manager at the healthcare software company Epic in Madison, Wisconsin. She spent her 1L summer as a summer associate at Dorsey & Whitney in Minneapolis and split her 2L summer between Dorsey and McDermott Will & Emery in Chicago.
Luca Winer graduated from the University of Chicago majoring in both English and history with a focus on the Middle East. She also received her M.Sc. in International Relations from the London School of Economics. Before law school, Luca worked as a financial and political risk analyst, P.R. specialist, and water rights activist in Amman, Jordan. In 2014, Luca served as a student attorney for Bay Area Legal Aid, The Michigan Unemployment Insurance Clinic and the University of Michigan General Litigation Clinic. In 2015, Luca worked as a summer associate for White & Case in their DC office, doing international arbitration and trade work.
