Matthew graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in International Studies and a concentration in Politics and Diplomacy. Matthew focused his studies on Modern Standard and Levantine Arabic, which he continued studying in Amman, Jordan as a part of his degree. Prior to law school, Matthew joined Teach For America and taught in an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme in San Antonio, Texas. In San Antonio, Matthew interned for the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services as the organization helped lead the response to family separation on the Mexico–United States border. At Michigan Law, Matthew has been involved with Outlaws serving as a 1L representative and the Outlaws Co-President. Matthew spent his 1L summer as a Diversity Fellow with Morgan Lewis where he will be returning as a 2L with the New York office.
