J.J. graduated from Middlebury College with a joint major in history and philosophy in addition to a Spanish minor. J.J. then worked for 1.5 years as a case manager at an immigration firm in Minneapolis, MN, dealing with family immigration matters and applications before USCIS. He then followed up on his academic year abroad in Spain to work as an English language assistant in Vilatuxe, Galicia before coming to Michigan Law. J.J. spent his 1L summer working virtually as an intern with the Civil-Criminal Litigation Clinic, and he has also served as an oralist with the Jessup International Moot Court team. J.J. will be spending his 2L summer with DLA Piper in their Santiago, Chile office.
