Ignacio is a third-year law student at the University of Michigan Law School, where he serves as notes editor of the Michigan Journal of International Law. He is a member of the Michigan Law Latino Law Students Association, the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Fraternity, and a student member of the American Bar Association.
Prior to pursuing a Juris Doctor degree, Ignacio briefly practiced as a litigation attorney at law firm De Castro & Robles, located in Panama City, Panama. He obtained a Bachelor of Laws (Summa Cum Laude, 2014) at Santa Maria La Antigua Catholic University, and pursued Justice, Law, and Society Studies at American University, as a United States Department of State Scholar (2012). In 2014 and 2015, he represented Panama in the international rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition. In 2017, he served as memorial judge in the Philippine Jessup Cup national rounds.
During his 1L summer, Ignacio interned with the Honorable Saliann Scarpulla at the Commercial Division of the New York State Supreme Court. Ignacio spent his 2L summer at law firm Shearman & Sterling LLP's New York City office.
